- With the right diet, we can easily control our high blood pressure problems. Therefore, if you want to control hypertension, following the proper diet is of the outmost concern. Dr Crandall says that for every 10 pounds we lose, we can minimize our intake of medication or get just rid of medication altogether.
- One should include plant-based foods in our diet.
- Do not consume processed food as it contains salt; which raises the blood pressure.
- Common foods such as breads, frozen dinners, cereals, soups, and ketchup, contain high levels of sodium, even though they taste sweet. Therefore, the intake of this kind of foods should be less, instead; one must increase the intake of fruits, vegetables, organic eggs, and non-fattening dairy products.
- One of the best ways to fight against hypertension is to walk. One must walk one hour a day.
